The Omaha Japanese School was founded in January 1986, to promote and enhance the appreciation, understanding of language and culture through language education. While our main focus is to educate Japanese children living in the United States, it also serves the local community as a source of information on Japanese culture.
Eligibility:
Japanese citizens or children of Japanese citizens who have reached school age, or person of non-Japanese citizens approved by the Board. One trial visit to the class may be granted while considering enrollment. The applicant should be submitted to the Principal.

School year runs from April till March the following year
Fee:
·Enrollment fee: $20 per student
·Tuition:$55 per month
·Discount available as follows (please refer to Tuition sheet)

·Copy fee: $5.00 per term
·Text delivery fee: $10 per term (only for Monbu-sho class)

·Activity fee: $5 per year per student in cash to parents representative
Absence policy:
·Contact to the homeroom teacher directly.
·For leave of absence, the notice should be submitted to the homeroom teacher by the end of month prior to leave month.
·Leave fee should be paid $27.50 per month.
·For inclement weather, the homeroom teacher will contact to student by 8:00 am
School Board:
- School Board consists of the Principal, Chair-person, Vice Chair-person, 2 Teachers Representatives, 2~3 parent representatives, and 2 Treasurers
- Board meetings are open to parents
Annual General Meeting:
Parents are required to attend the Annual General Meeting typically held on the last school day in March.
Curriculum and Grade:
The curriculum is presented by the homeroom teacher during the parent-teacher conference at the beginning of each term. Parents will receive a report card describing progress at the end of each term, which is to be signed and returned to the homeroom teacher.
